What do I need to do to care for my eyelash extensions?
-
Avoid oil, moisturizer, sweat, heat, steamy hot showers & kitchens, saunas and eye make up if you'd like longer retention.
-
Gently wash your lash extensions everyday with an oil free face wash under running water to remove everyday buildup of natural oils, moisturizer, dead skin and make-up. Use a clean make up brush and foaming cleanser to remove makeup by working gently around and into the eyelashes. This will help most with making your lashes last.
-
Do not use waterproof mascara or eyeliner on your eyelashes. If you can't live without your eyeliner, buy a felt tip eyeliner, not a liquid liner or pencil. Most people who use eyeliner tend to lose their lash extensions faster due to fine dusty residue which will make your lashes fall out faster or gloop them together.
-
Avoid sleeping with your eyes in the pillow. We recommend using a special molded eyemask to protect your lashes. Silk or satin pillows can also help.
-
Brush your lashes gently every day when you wake up and after you've had a shower with a dry mascara wand/spoolie.
-
Avoid getting moisturizers /eye creams anywhere near your eyes as this will soak off your lash extensions, particularly if they are oil based products which most moisturizers & eye creams are.
-
Do not rub your eyes, in fact if you have hay fever or similar allergies now may be a good time to use antihistamines to reduce you wanting to rub your eyes.
-
Never pull your eyelash extension off as it will pull out your natural eyelash and this can take months to grow back. If you want them removed contact us for our professional eyelash removal service.
-
Do not perm or use eyelash curlers on your eyelashes. This will damage and snap your natural lashes.
-
Be careful around heat, especially when lighting cigarettes, blow drying your fringe, opening steamy ovens, pots when cooking, Bikram hot yoga, steamy shower cubicles etc.
-
To strengthen and lengthen your natural lashes we suggest using a Lash Growth Serum, this means we can put more and longer lashes on you in the future. We suggest EyeEnvy (which we stock email us to order), LiLash or RevitaLash which are available from various online retailers for approx $120-$180
