Lash Extensions are individual natural fibre or synthetic lashes that are connected to one natural lash with a bonding adhesive. They lengthen, thicken & accentuate the natural lash line. Each extension is connected to a single natural lash with specially designed tools giving a totally natural look. The process can take 1 to 3 hours, depending on how many lashes are applied.
Our most popular lash extensions are made of a resilient high quality synthetic fibre. We also have mink lashes are very popular too.
Unlike most lash salons, our average full set application is 100-140 lashes per eye. Many salons only apply 50-70 for a 'full set' despite most people having between 100-150 lashes per eye.
With the correct application & homecare lashes can last up to 4-6 weeks. We do recommend clients come in for touch-ups every 2-4 weeks to keep the lash line maintained.
The application should not hurt or iritate your eyes. Though it may feel a little different at first.
The adhesive used to attach the lashes is especially designed to be used near eyes, though it may cause some stinging or watery eyes if it actually gets in the eye, but this is not common if lashes are being applied by a professional.
Each lash is applied to one eyelash, not your eyelid, so you should not feel the lashes at all.
If the lashes are irritating or scratching you, they have been applied incorrectly and you should consult with a profesional lash technician, as they will be able to fix the problem.
Rubbing your eyes excessively can damage the extensions and make them uncomfortable.
A natural lash growth cycle is 60-90 days. All lashes are at different stages of growth, some new, some due to fall away from the eyelid naturally. When they do fall away the attached lash extension will go with it. Thus the lash extensions will need to be replenished. Another reason is natural lashes will continue to grow, in some cases the lash extension will become too long or twist as the natural lash grows out. The extension should be removed by technician & replenished. Pulling these lashes off yourself can damage your natural lashes
Yes - the process can take up to 3 hours so you will need to make an appointment, also try to leave plenty of time so you can relax during your appointment.
It depends on the geographical location of the salon as well as how many lashes are being put onto each eye. Professionals are currently charging $100-$400+ for an average application & more for a thicker application. Product, time, wages, advertising & overheads are all considered differently by each lash technician
When you have lash extensions you won't need to wear Mascara, but if you do use it only use a water based type. Waterproof or oil based mascara will dissolve the extensions bonding adhesive & your lash extensions will fall off.
Absolutely not! This is dangerous & lash extensions should only ever be applied by a trained Eyelash extension technician. Incorrectly applied lash extensions can cause significant discomfort.
Applied and maintained correctly Lash Extensions are not damaging to your eyes or natural lashes.
If lashes are applied carelessly such that two or more lashes are stuck together this can cause irritation but will not damage your natural lash, unless you pull them out as below.
Pulling lashes out yourself can hurt and pull your natural lash out before it is ready to fall, this can thin out your lash line temporarily as you will need to wait for the lashes to grow back.
Lashes applied to close to the eyelid can cause temporary irritation.
For these reasons we reccomend you only use a professional lash technician to apply and remove lash extensions.
It's very important to have thoroughly clean eyes and lashes for your appointment. Wash them with a foaming cleanser the day before and on the day of your appointment to remove any leftover make up residue.
Please do not apply mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow or moisturizer before your appointment.
Also, oils will dissolve the adhesive glue so if you can avoid using an oil based makeup remover or other products this will help your lashes to last longer.
